About Me

Taking pictures is something I have loved to do as long as I can remember. It runs in the family blood, I think as so many of us enjoy it. I have just a few photos taken by my grandfather that I think show a beginning of the love of photography in my family and maybe he somehow passed that along down the line.  Being able to look back with a picture and have it bring back memories that might otherwise be forgotten is one of my favorite things. To be able to see what my grandparents or parents looked like as little kids and notice things about them that are similar to my kids or myself is especially fun. My slogan is "Capturing your special moments and preserving them in pictures." You can't go back and hold a baby who has grown up or a grandparent that has passed away but you can bring back just a little of what things once were with a picture and maybe if just for a moment take yourself back in time to a happy moment or a time when a child was small. You can compare how they have grown and capture what they are now.

While I have been doing this for so long for myself, I have just begun doing it for others a little over a year ago. I am grateful for the opportunity people have given me to photograph for them. And I am so grateful for how much each one of them has taught me and how much I have been able to learn just from having the chance to take a picture. I started out loving just natural light and while I still love natural light I am learning to love being able to use other sources of light to help when necessary. My favorite locations are outside. I love a real moment! Moments that you just can't pose, the things that are really happening. I do the posed because we all want to see faces big on the wall and just have something fun and different every now and then.  But a kid being who he really is or a look that is passed between two people that shows how they feel. Those are my favorite.

So glad you stopped by and even more so that you would take a little time out to learn a little about me.  Thanks for stopping by Joanne

Ps Even if you don't hire me for your photographer make sure you get out and get some photos done even if it's your own camera. Life goes by to quickly  and you never can tell what is just around the corner. Pictures can be a very special part of the things you will treasure throughout your life.
